Raškovice municipality spreads out on the left bank of the Morávka river. It is one of the oldest municipalities in the Frýdek-Místek district. Today there are modern enterprises of the SLEZAN textile industry, then an enterprise for SAFT accumulators production, Foldyna's lumber mill, Josef Šebesta's joinery, an enterprise for IDEAL high quality furniture production and other. The enterprises are ecological and some of them are up to the norm ISO 14 001. Local beautiful nature serves for recreation to people coming from industrial regions of Ostrava and Karviná. Both permanent citizens and visitors have at disposal the local cinema (one of the oldest ones in the Frýdek-Místek region), then the pub Obecník and the restaurant U Fojtíků, where a very good beer is brewed and draught. There is a department store in Raškovice and many other smaller shops with opening hours almost for the whole week, there are also car repair service, car body repair service, tire service, filling station, haidresser's, pedicure etc. The advantage is a very good bus connection with the district town Frýdek-Místek. You will also find here health centre, pharmacy and dental surgery. There are a lot of sporting possibilities in Raškovce - there are volleyball and tennis courts, a football field and a school gym. In summer you can refresh yourself in crystal clear mountain rivers such as the Morávka and the Mohelnice rivers, where you can see trouts, crayfish and many other species which are the proof of a healthy environment. Surrounding nature even offers numerous interesting places for hiking. The south-eastern part of Raškovice is a protected landscape area of Beskydy where you can watch a lot of interesting animals such as otter, deer, roe, lynx lynx, but you will also find here many plants.
